DeMint Defends 'Right to Work' Amendment

During an impassioned speech given today on the Senate floor, Sen. DeMint defended the need for his “Right to Work” amendment, explaining that “my amendment restores basic, unalienable, individual rights. No law, federal or state, should force an American to join a union in order to get a job in this country.”

Thank you for introducing the right to work ammendment.
I really am opposed to the Ledbetter bill.
Equal rights should be just that-equal for everyone and no special rights for any one.

I also am very opposed to the unions and what they have done to this country.
I believe that in the beginning collective bargaining had a place. However, union bosses have pushed everything out of kilter. The unions now seem to be only for the benefit of the union, not for the benefit of the individual employee. By forcing contracts with automatic pay increases which are not tied to company profits or job performance, the unions have forced the companies to take the jobs overseas or close the company altogether. Either way the employees lose, the communities lose, and the nation loses.

I encourage you to hang in there and fight.
