By now you’ve read about President Obama’s proposed government takeover of our health care system, and hopefully you’ve read my conservative alternative, “The Health Care Freedom Plan.”
Earlier this week President Obama accused me of playing politics with health care, but the truth that is that the President’s promises have rarely agreed with his policies.
For six months, instead of stimulating our economy, he has been stimulating our government and is now pushing a bill that will force over 80 million Americans out of their current health plan and into a government system.
Our disagreement on these vital issues has garnered a lot of media attention, and I’ve been on a lot of news programs including The Today Show and Fox News’s Neil Cavuto. That’s where you come in.
I want to use these opportunities to tell America what’s on your mind. Would you use the comment section below to tell me why you oppose President Obama’s government takeover of health care?
Just give me your #1 reason for opposing the President’s plan in the comments sections. I’ll go through and read each comment, pick a few out, and read them on air.
Stay tuned to my Twitter account, and I’ll let you know what time and which station. This is an extremely important time for our nation, and your opinion is needed now more than ever.
Thanks,
Jim
PS – I need your opinion. Please use the comments box below to give me your #1 reason for opposing President Obama’s government takeover of our health care system.

I’ve heard this program comes along with 50 plus new federal agencies and thousands more government employees. I want less government; no IRS, no Dept of Education, no,no, no more government, give me less!

The government is too large right now. Our freedoms are eroding. Whatever the government puts their hands in – service and quality get worse. Doctors already don’t want to treat Medicare and Medicaid patients, what makes the elites in Washington think that if we’re forced (another freedom taken away) to use their healthcare system, the best doctors will want to treat us?
What about elderly – will they be too old to treat, when the money could be better spent on a younger person, who has their whole life ahead of them?
If this is passed, I think the senate and house should all have to use the same health care that they are forcing on us. I understand that if we keep our private insurance, we can not make any changes to it – increase or decrease coverage, we’re stuck with it.
AND READ THE DAMN THING BEFORE YOU SIGN IT!

The reason we totally oppose the so-called healthcare is the erosion of our God given freedoms. Our forefathers did not intend for us to be taken care of by a nanny state. If you want to reform health care, then give us more freedom to choose and be responsible for our own care. (i.e. Medical Savings Accpounts, Catastrophic Insurance) If I am going to be free, then by God I want to be FREE.

This bill WILL ration healthcare and put government in charge of everyone’s healthcare – everyone, that is, EXCEPT Congress, their staff, families, and UNIONS! Not to mention, as a country, we do not have the MEANS to pay for it – small business profits are at an all-time low, individual tax collections are shrinking – the only portion of the economy that’s growing is GOVERNMENT – can’t tax that!

My husband and I are baby boomers with senior parents and In-Laws. (Yes all 4 are still alive and well!) It scares me to death that, under Obama care, if we have any serious health issues we will be told that we are too old for life saving or life prolonging treatment – go home and DIE. Who made Obama and his minions God? My teenage children are horrified at the tax burden they are goin to have to shoulder.
Thank you for taking an interest in what we, the people of South Carolina, think. I have tried to e-mail Mr. Spratt and Mr. Clyburn. Mr. Spratt’s e-mail was not working and Mr. Clyburn won’t talk to anyone who can’t vote for him – even though I live in South Carolina. I have been able to send my thoughts to all of the Republican members of the SC Congressional Delegation. Thank you very much. Many of my friends, co-workers and all of my family is very concerned about and very scared of Obama Care.

I can not understand why the government has to get involved with health care at all. The only thing the government needs to do is get involved in curbing frivolous lawsuits against doctors and hospitals and the cost of insurance will go down thereby making it easier for less fortunate individuals and families to afford insurance. The government has never cured anything that it gets involved in. I agree with you that if Obama pushes his health care catastrophe through it will be his “Waterloo”. I believe the American public has already had as much as they will take from this administration. I know I am sick and tired of it and will do everything in my power legally to get the Democratic Liberal Socialist Party out of the Whitehouse.

It doesn’t address the issues. They are using it as a tool to hide more wastful spending making a bad situation worse. It’s another case of “Look at the left hand while I wallop you with the right!”

Government can not be trusted to make my health care decisions. Congress does not make decisions based on our best interest but on thier own interest and thier own pocket books and how much money they can get from lobbiest or others. They make rules and regulations depending on what special interest group is paying the most money. Social security, medicare and medicade, DMV..tell me a department that they run smoothly and effeciently? This is only the beginning of the list of issues i have with government health care!
What about the book that I believe Obama’s Health Chair wrote and released recently that says that elderly people should accept that they are growing old instead of trying to fix everything the goes wrong with thier bodies. Combine that with some states legalizing euthanasia and soon you will have the government talking elderly people and thier families into just putting them down. Or maybe not disclosing that thier are options to heal them..but instead saying “there is nothing we can do”. This should be an outrage! What kind of society have we become that we are so selfish and self centered that we dont want to spend time or money to tend to the elderly and provide them with the best love and care available. They will be taken from us soon enough.

If this plan is good for all and not robbing us of our choices and diminishing the quality and availability of health care, why are the president and congress exempt and not required to be part of it also.

Obama is not interested in healthcare. Obama is only interested in expanding government control. Socialized medicine will destroy American healthcare and the American economy.

The government has proven time and time again that when it puts its hand on something that was previously in the private sector, it makes it inefficient and more costly.

Obama Care will take the best, most available medical care in the world and turn it into second rate care with prejudiced availability or denied care.
Just remember the lines at all other government agencies. (ie. DMV, Social Security office, etc.). Is that what you want from you Dr. The wait is long enough already.
