DeMint Passes $3 Million Mark

DeMint message resonating; fundraising momentum continues

Columbia – Today, the reelection campaign of U.S. Senator Jim DeMint announced it will file its 2009 4th quarter report with the Federal Election Commission showing over $3.2 million dollars on hand 11 months out from the 2010 election.

In reaction, Senator DeMint said, “I am thankful for the strong and generous support my campaign continues to receive. With over 5,000 people making contributions of $100 or less in 2009 alone, I am honored to know that even in this tough economy, the common sense message of getting Washington out of the way of job creation is resonating with South Carolina voters.

Commenting on Senator DeMint’s impressive war chest, DeMint Finance Co-Chairman Barry Wynn said, “Senator DeMint’s efforts to reform Washington are more necessary than ever. With over $3 million on hand, and a continued strong fundraising pace, the Senator’s campaign will have the resources to run a serious campaign should a serious opponent surface. It is clear that South Carolinians and most Americans are ready to end the job destroying policies coming from the majority party in Washington, DC. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have controlled Congress for over 3 years now, and the American people are ready for a change.”

DeMint concluded, “Freedom works if we’ll let it. I pledge to keep working for solutions that free South Carolina businesses – the engine of job creation for our state – from a broken and unpredictable federal tax code, excessive bureaucracy, and the threat of further government takeovers.”

DeMint for Senate Campaign Fundraising Summary:
