The Obama Administration has more bigger things to worry about- fixing our broken economy under socialism, helping to define a clearer strategy for Afghanistan and the last thing they need to do is worry about the sovereignty of Arizona. Has Washington DC completely forgot about the 11the amendment? Federalism is suppose to be powers that are shared between the states and DC, not just Washington. Whatever powers that are not invested in the Constitution are reserved for the states. Arizona is taking a stand of what so many years politicians from both parties have failed to do- secure the border. Many don’t won’t to hurt Mexico’s feelings and you have some in the business community that need those illegal workers to keep their businesses thriving and you have both parties vying to get the Hispanic vote into their party so they can keep getting elected, all the while failing to secure our borders. If we can have troops in Afghanistan and Iraq we need a secure strong border to have a secure strong America and the Governor of AZ knows this.

i think the federal gov. should encourage border states to take up the slack on illigal entry to this country.

I am so thankful for you. Please continue to stand firm for America. Wish we had more Jim DeMitts.
People I talk with have the same opinion I do-we must get rid of Lindsey Graham. He says one thing and does another-he is not helping the Republicans only Obama. And Newt-please don’t let him run for President. Voters want to uphold the Republicans but these including McCain are holding the Republicans back. Aren’t there any NEW people -this is what we are looking for to vote in-real Americans that won’t get caught up in the lifestyle of DC.

I fully agree with Sean Flaherty’s statement on the Arizona law and am greatly concerned about the attempts of the Obama administration to kill it and keep allowing illegal immigrants to enter our country.
I am just as concerned about the upcoming election and whether efforts are being made to protect our votes. Are there measures to protect and check voting machines and get security at polling stations so that we don’t have what happened in Philadelphia to happen here, where black panthers intimidated voters at a voting location. When I saw where the candidate–I believe his name is Alan Green–who will oppose Sen. DeMint in the election get the Democratic nomination without canpaigning and all the other matters concerning what he did NOT do to get votes, things that make us wonder why anyone would vote for such an unqualified candidate, I became increasingly concerned about protecting the integrity of this election, I am very concerned about attempts of the left to steal this election as they have done in other races such as during the presidential election. I believe this deserves a serious examination as to just how honest this election will be. If we don’t get some Republicans elected and hopefully take both houses of congress we are, obviously, in deep trouble based on what we are seeing and have seen since the Democrats and Obama have been in control. To undo some of the things they have done will take some effort but I believe it will be necessary if we are to remain solvent as a country and protect our freedoms.

I support Arizona’s effort to enforce immigration now since they amended the legislation and have indemnified local & state enforcement officers. The state legislation is simply the forced response to secure our borders since the federal government has failed to do so. It is ironic that a state is forced to do this because of federal inaction and then the feds have the gall to try to block this.

I am in complete agreement with Arizona and their plan to uphold the law. Hopefully, South Carolina will do the same. I can’t understand what part of “illegal” people don’t understand. Myself and most of the people I know feel that the proper way to come to America is to go through the paperwork that is required to become a U.S. citizen – not to just walk across the
border (or rather sneak across). Companies and individuals who hire undocumented people need to be penalized with a substantial fine.
It is degrading for our president to NOT protect America, including Arizona which is by law part of the United States of America. He doesn’t get it. SB1070 is NOT about Mexicans, it is about ILLEGAL. Last month the Democrats cheered and Obama through Mexico President Calderon a “special party” at taxpayer expense. Shortly before Calerdon came to the USA to bash ARIZONA, his jail system let 23 Al-Shabab terrorists go. Did they cross through Arizona or Texas? We know the Al-Shabab bombed Uganda during the world cup so what is this groups intentions, and where are these thugs Janet Napolitano? 46 Afghans are missing from the AFB in Texas. Where are they? Jose Lopez Madrigal, an ILLEGAL alien had been deported 9 (NINE) times. He was recently arrested in Washington for RAPE. Then compare the ILLEGAL voters on Arizona voting polls and you will find Terry Goddard Atty General eyes shut & against SB1070.

Thank you for all your hard work. What our President has done to our country is unbelievable. I am so thankful that we have some people like you to fight for us. I am praying every day that we do not have Green win this. He is another one that you can tell every thing that comes out of his mouth is a lie and we have been through that with the President.. Thanks again.

I think Obama should be impeached for dereliction of duty and treason against this country. He encourages an invasion of the country along with his democratic colleagues.
We need more DeMints and less Grahamnestys ………Tired of the racist politics od the democratic party that has no other issue left to exploit!

Pres. Obama has a lot of strong “pie in the sky” plans, but they won’t work and he and his crowd aren’t smart enough to see it. The power and might of this country used to be it’s production and manufacturing might. If we were in this shape in 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, what language would you be speaking today? It wouldn’t be English.
Our industries cannot hire 8 year olds to work in factories or have workers working in places where the air quality is absolutely toxic, but they make them compete with companies that do. It’s time to quit worrying about how the rest of the world is going to make out and start worrying about our country first. I don’t feel that we should be worried about raising the standard of living of the rest of the world to ours so we can compete.

ARIZONS vs OBAMA reminds me of an old “Bonanza” episode… In where “Ben Cartwright” is demonstrating strength and unity of the family values to “Little Joe” Ben had a single stick. He gave it to Little Joe. He asked Little Joe to break it. And of course Little Joe broke the stick easily… Ben then handed Little Joe a bunch of sticks and asked him to break all of the sticks as he did the single stick. Well obviuosly Little Joe could not break the bunch of sticks at the same time… The lesson learned “The Carwrights, [the family], will stay strong and prosper with unity”… Little Joe “GOT-IT”
Well Arizona vs OBAMA is the same thing… The Adminstration is dividing and conquering more and more of our American family, literally, every single day… OBAMA’s beliefs are separating ARIZONA, [the single stick] from the bunch. And if Americans continue to let him divide and conquer, as he is with ARIZONA, Americans will be less of a family day by day…
Americans haven’t got it yet. We need to begin to stand together to keep the family strong… Because after ARIZONA what will stop OBAMA from coming after SC next? CAN SC be OBAMA’s next ’stick’? We need to stand with Arizona

We recently had a contractor roof our house. The workers were legal Mexicans. They worked their hearts out. I tried to get them to go home from the extreme heat, but they refused because they said they “had to support their families.” I am very opposed to Arizona’s law because the truth is our CEOs have encouraged cheap Mexican labor “to line their own pockets.” They get around paying for insurance and other benefits by hiding their legitimacy. Our government and lobbyists have made it too easy to “look the other way” with the problem of immigration. You cannot allow the Mexicans to work so hard for our country and then send them back home after they have been “used” to do the hard, dirty work that nobody else wanted to do. God will judge our country severely if the USA doesn’t handle this fairly. The poor Mexicans are being “used” in all sorts of dirty labor that most Americans don’t want to do. This issue is complicated…it is not a clear cut issue…it demands that we handle this issue fairly. If we fail to handle it carefully, the USA will suffer the consequences. Nobody ever has been able “to eat their cake and have it, too.” The USA was founded on principles of fairness…to take advantage of poor Mexicans violates the principles of our founding fathers. I encourage Senator DeMint to carefully weigh the consequences of businesses taking advantage of these poor hard working Mexicans.

The immigration enforcement system has been set up for 30+ years. Every new employee has to complete an I-9 form that requires certification of who they are (drivers license, social security number, green card, etc.) that has to be kept current at all times. This is a tool INS can and should use. If an illegal worker is found, the company should be fined and required to send that employee and family back to country of birth. If the company needs the employee because our citizens won’t do the job, then the company could sponsor that employee and family to become a legal worker and return them to the US to fill the job.

If this Death Tax bill passes, it will destroy small family businesses and the desire to start one.
