ObamaCare – “A bureaucratic nightmare”

Yesterday, Sen. Sam Brownback and Rep. Kevin Brady released a flow chart detailing the complex bureaucracy in charge of implementing ObamaCare.

Senator DeMint said:

“The Democrats’ takeover of health care creates a byzantine network of 159 new federal programs and bureaucracies to make decisions that should be between just the patient and their doctor. It should concern everyone that at the center of this regulatory web is the new CMS chief, Donald Berwick, who has championed rationing and European socialized medicine. Americans were rightly outraged that this big government bill was rushed through Congress before anyone read or fully understood the bill’s consequences. Republicans will fight to repeal this reckless takeover and to ensure health care freedom to American families.”

You can find a PDF of the full chart here.

Spread the word and help Sen. DeMint fully repeal ObamaCare.

It is indeed going to be a nightmare, but we are feeling it right now. My husband has been being treated for colon cancer for the past year and as of this Monday our insurance is not wanting to pay for his treatment. The hospital says its just the beginning. We have to fight this Obamacare or many people will suffer. Keep up the good fight we will support you.

Looks very similar to every other government run program.

    Dear Senator DeMint;

Please keep up the good work for our country. I fully endorse any effort that can be made to repeal or defuend Obama Care. I have worked in several countries that have socialized medicine; eg Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Canada and Japan and have seen first hand how these systems fail to meet even the basic needs of the citizens. For example, I listened as a Japanese friends father died of cancer and suffered a painful death.

Now, her mother has cancer and is currently in the hospital in tokyo, dying of cancer. My friend recently visited her mother and when she entered her mothers room was bowled over by the stench. When she went to the nursing supervisors desk she was told that her mothers diaper could only be changed every six hours and that it would be another two hour before she was entiteld to a change. Her mother is 71 years old and anyone over 70 is only entitled to minimum care. In the case of her mother she gets no cancer treatments other than dugs for the pain. My friend is heartbroken since she is familiar with the current health care available to our citizens.

Socilaized medicine ultimately leads to inferior care for all. Doctors quit their practices, the quality of those entering medicine tend to be of inferior quakity and those who can tolerate inteferring government oversight and lack incentive to be on the job more than their required eight hours a day. New scienntific drug and medical device research is discouraged and new treatments and products are not brought to market.

I do agree that our health care system could be more equitable, but there are more effective ways ti accomplish this goal. I strognly support interstate sales of health insurnce, tort reform, reduction of rules and paper work which contribute little to helath care and an electronic record keeping system that would assure privacy.

Please support the constution, stronger state rights, border enforcement limited government against Cap and Trade, and the interference of government into my life.

    Thanks
    Jerry Smith

I’ve been working overseas for 4 years, and sadly haven’t paid much attention to national news. I am appalled at what I’ve just found. The current administration in signing this bill has effectively moved us toward becoming the United Socialist States of America.

Could someone (respectfully) remind our current administration that we are and should remain a free people? ObamaCare obstructs Americans from making informed health care decisions for our families and substitutes that for the clumsiness and inertia of big government. I fully support the repeal and replace initiative.

First, how would the same person who drew this chart depict many of the programs run by previous (republican) governments – eg. health and education. A spaghetti maze does not mean anything unless it is compared with something. A PC or Mac circuit board looks as complicated and they work brilliantly. Anyone can draft a decision making chart to make it look “scary”.

Secondly, the chart has been drafted by opponents of the health scheme – they no doubt decided to make it look as bad as possible, and how do we know their depiction is an accurate reflection of the operation of the scheme?

Finally, what “free choice” in health care did an unemployed or low income person have under the previous administration. With freedom in America also comes responsibility and care for fellow citizens. I am prepared tp pay a little extra tax if that needs be so that some people can actually have their sick child visit a doctor. That is real freedom Mr De Mint – and I hope you honour freedom of speach and publish my comment.

    Thankyou sir.

Well it began already…this week…..obama-no-care that is.

It has taken 3 days and 35 phone calls to get some food for my 11 month old grandson. He is so allergic to anything and everything that he has to have a special formula. It has to be prescribed by an allergist from a sole source. This week, his insurance changed to no longer cover the doctor network that has virtually kept him alive the last 10 months, and cutting off his food supply. He had enough formula to last him through Friday. It costs $40 a can, a 2-3 day supply. Saga to continue.

Yesterday, we checked to see if my wife would still be covered on the insurance I get through Raytheon. We were told it would be reinstated, one more year; after that who knows? Price to go up an undetermined amount. We expect at least $200 a month. It took an hour just to get this information because HR is not told much about California insurance options other than the HMO’s. Even though I no longer work, next year, I will pay taxes, because I have this plan, of at least $3740 more, above and beyond the premium cost. See now, under obummer-care, my insurance is considered income for tax purposes amounting to almost $10,000 [on something that will already cost me out of pocket for premiums at least $12,000]. Now anyone can see why the leftists who came up with this want to make insurance mandatory. If she were young and healthy, I would just pay the fine.

And to top it off, this week, Medicare denied paying any longer on a cancer drug for a family member and friend. It was working, but costing uncle sammy almost $5000 a month. He is a couple of years older than I am. Without the treatment, his doctor gives him a year.
So basically Medicare told him, “Just stay home Old Man. And die ”
